Hi, I’m Dr. Johnson—the heart behind Pumpkin Posh.

Decorating with pumpkins has always been more than seasonal décor. It’s about creating warmth, tradition, and joy—the kind of feeling that welcomes people home before they even walk through the door. One of my favorite fall traditions has always been visiting the pumpkin patch with my family, especially with my mom (as seen below), who has always been my biggest inspiration.

What began as a personal passion officially started in 2021 in Northbrook, Illinois, where the very first Pumpkin Posh porch was decorated. That first porch became the beginning of something much bigger—a way to share the cozy magic of fall with others. Those memories inspired me to bring that same sense of beauty, connection, and seasonal magic to other families’ doorsteps.

Before Pumpkin Posh, I spent over 12 years as a teacher and school leader, earning my Doctorate in Education. Teaching taught me the importance of creativity, structure, care, and intention—values I now pour into every Pumpkin Posh design. I also spent over 15 years as a makeup artist, where I developed an eye for color, balance, texture, and styling. That creative background now lives at the heart of Pumpkin Posh, shaping the way each porch is thoughtfully layered, styled, and brought to life.

What began as a personal passion has grown into a way to share the cozy magic of fall with others.

Pumpkin Posh isn’t just about pumpkins. It’s about creating a warm, inviting space that feels like home, celebrates family, and makes every season a little more special. To us, every porch tells a story — of the people who live there, the memories being made, and the traditions that make fall feel magical. Our job is to help style that story beautifully, one pumpkin at a time.
